Shelly's follow up single to BORN IN A BARN is now at Country radio and MyFM stations across Canada. This track is titled HARD TO SAY NO I think you will agree that it is her best work yet. Credit for this master piece goes to Shelly writing partners Darcy Corbett and Byron Hill, and to the enormous help of her producer Jason Barry for bringing this song to it's beautiful breathtaking fruition that it is today. Please call your local country and/or MyFM station today and request it to ensure it gets on ALL stations Canada wide. Let's make it hard for radio to say no to Shelly Rastin! Thanks H U G E for your support!!

OK, so my trip to Nashville took place March 21-24 instead of in February...good thing it did too as the old 'in the right place at the right time' happened to me while I was there. I ended up meeting and writing with a man who has wrote 17 #1 hit songs Randy Boudeaux (Broken Heartsville by Joe Nicoles being just one of them). We hooked up in a studio after a fun night out and drank moonshine, shared stories and wrote songs all night long until the noon the next day. Yes...long night but a real fun and productive one! I played him a copy of my new song that was 'just' released to Country radio across Canada on Mar 22 and he just LOVED it. Said it was a smash hit and that he found a new Canadian song writing partner in Shelly Rastin. This coming from a hit writer like Randy Boudeaux certainly helped reinforce the fact that I have something cool to offer Country music. We (and my good friend in life and music Stacey Zegers) wrote a song (She Can't Give it to You) that Randy feels is penned for Blake Sheldon or Toby Keith which he will get in front of them. Very stoked about all this and the great people I met...going back April 20th to hook up with the boys and do it all over again!
On a cool note for stuff going on here in beautiful Canada, I'm set to co-host the Jack Richardson Music Awards (JRMA) with Janice Zolf (A Channel) on Sunday, March 31 7pm @ The London Music Hall (London ON). In addition I've been asked to be a keynote speaker at the JRMA music seminar panel where she will talk about the recording process (from pre-production to full production).
Saturday, March 30 11am @ the Aiolan Hall (London ON). Yup...I get to talk about how it took me over 2 years to complete my debut album LOL. Actually, it was a long process but a very valuable and worth while process. I learned a lot and from THE BEST and in result we now have a GREAT album vs just an album.
'Born in a Barn' which was penned by myself and Darcy Corbett was just released to radio last week...it's under review by the PM and PD's at country radio across Canada as we speak and so far the feedback has been unbelievable. I'm very encouraged that you will hearing this song " a smash hit" (Randy Boudeaux) on your station in a couple weeks. Wish me luck and cross your fingers real tight please. :-) I'll keep you posted as Born in a Barn progresses.

Hey there, I hope 2008 has been good to you so far! It's been a great start for me, with a live appearance on TSN in January as I took part in the Rumble Rama III (Steve Molitar Canadian Boxing title fight) at Casino Rama. What a great night, what a great fight! Way to go Steve for holding down the titled yet again!
I'm off to Nashville February 21/22 for more writing and playing...gonna check out Nashville Star while I'm there, then hoping a flight to Mexico for some R&R. When I come back I'll be performing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto at the Cadillac Lounge, Queen Street Toronto (March 7 @ 10pm).
I'm up for 2 more music awards. I've been very fortunate to be two- time London Music Awards - Country Artist of the Year winner, two-time Jack Richardson Music Awards - Singer/Songwriter of the Year winner, and nominated at the Toronto Independent Music Awards - Country Artist of the Year. With your help maybe I'll be a 3 time winner. <insert crossed fingers here>. :-)
Lots of shows scheduled for 2008 with more to be posted soon. So if I don't see you at Canadian Music Week, I hope to see you at one of the other venues for a cheer, smile and some laughs. Check the tour page often for updates on shows.
P.S. I've been promising an update on the release of the much anticipated CD...please bare with me, we are almost there. I'm holding out on communicating any information until I have the release date confirmed, but it will be 'very soon' I promise. And when it comes out...we are going to PARTY! Stay tuned...
Hugs & kisses
Shelly
Thank you for your nomination and votes at the London and Toronto Music Awards for Country Artist & Songwriter of the Year. I’ve been honored to claim these 2 titles for 4 years now; however, this year I passed the torch to my successors! Congratulations to: The Rizdales and Sarah Westbrook for their well deserved win! I’m a big fan of their music!!
I attended Canadian Country Music Week in Regina in September and made some substantial progress. Stay tuned to learn more about what’s happening with the new CD and when. Expect something substantial in January 2008, and please…keep your fingers crossed for me.

Opening show with Emerson Drive - SOLD OUT! To answer the many emails and calls I'm receiving...Yes the show I am doing with Emerson Drive this Saturday (Feb 10) at Norma Jeans is SOLD OUT! And no I can't bat my eyes and hope that the promoter will be able to squeeze a couple more tickets out of thin air; the show is sold out completely and quickly. The only way you can take in Saturday's show is to tune into BX93 and try to win tickets as they have a small handful of giveaways.
Secret…if you're really depressed about not being able to get in the show on Saturday then don't fret too much…there are still tickets available to see them at Jackhammers in Brantford or Cowboys in Guelph. Oh and Jackhammers will have my most favorite indie band opening the show, DRY COUNTY! Go and enjoy!
Nashville Tennessee! Thank you 'very much' for all the emails wondering how my writing trip to Nashville went last month. To sum it up….it was FANTASTIC!! We met and wrote with some of the best song writers imaginable; when you hear the new stuff I'm sure you will agree. We are busy in the studio with Jason Barry making the new album happen. As the release date comes nearer, I will share some stories, great experiences and learning's that will explain how this album was developed...how I was developed and didn't even realize it was happening.
World Champions in our own back yard! Before I sign off, I have to let you know of the most incredible news. If you took in our summer shows e.g. our opening show for Keith Urban at Sarnia Bayfest, then you will know who the dance troop titled The Delhi Country Cruisers are. The cruisers went to Nashville early January to compete in the World Championship dance off, and I'm so proud to say that they are now officially titled THE WORLD CHAMPION DELHI COUNTRY CRUISERS !!! Yes, they won the worlds!!! If you haven't had the pleasure to take in their show yet well now's your chance. There will be a celebration and show with the Cruisers on February 24 at Tilsonburg Event Center. My band and I will be there to provide live music, including a sneak peek of some of the new cuts from my new album (to be released this quarter). So come on out and kick it up a notch and help the cruisers celebrate their success!

Hey there. Just wanted to take a moment to wish you and yours a WONDERFUL Christmas and New Years. And to thank you all so much for your support in 2006.July 20, 2006
Sarnia Bayfest Rawked!! My band and I got to perform old and brand new music off the upcoming album to 20,000 enthusiastic country music fans! What a thrill that was to perform for that size of a crowd and to open for that size of a mega super star - Keith Urban! Thank you to Stokes Bar & Grill for putting on yet another amazing Bayfest concert series and for all your support to the Shelly Rastin Band. We love you!!
Did Shelly and Nicole kidman duke it out back stage? Nah! But the Hollywood tabloid (STAR Magazine) sure made it look to be scrap in the making. Seriously though...the media has always treated me well by covering many of my shows, successes and what's next for me. But sinse the Bayfest show with Keith Urban there's been an overwhelming deal of press coverage on the event and my little statement about the security lock down. Most of which conveniently fail to mention my tone and humor that came along with it which was something to the effect of 'ah, the glamorous life on the road...changing in your van'. Instead they chose to make me out to be a winey little beaotch. LOL
But the coverage has been amazing, everything from local news, Switzerland, States, msn entertainment headlines and the big one. Star Magazine! Here's a couple examples...
STAR Magazine - Nicole Kidman's Canadian Adventure
I recall saying in a interview with 'Think London' earlier in the year that one of my dreams come true would be to share the same stage with Keith Urban. Well that dream certainly came true on July 13, 2006! Thank you to everyone who was there to share that with me.
Hugs and kisses.
